Mall Game Hiding Spot Tier List
Where Mother cannot see you -?and the cover that is shorter than she is.
If your hide is shorter than Mother, it is not a hide. This list ranks Tape 1 cover by survive rate when she is in the same wing. Pair it with Comment survivre and the Carte. Revamp alpha can move a locker; if a spot fails twice, demote it yourself.
S tier
Full lockers. Enter completely. Wait for footsteps to pass, count to three, exit. Re-enter if she double-backs (Hard). Do not share with a teammate.
Bathroom stall connector route. Girls’ room -?stall -?boys’ room -?vent. This is a hide and a path. It beats the camped cafeteria hall. Details on Comment survivre.
NPC saferoom interiors while she is not pathing the door. Gavin / Filip rooms for breathing. Not AFK parking.
A tier
Arcade / obby interior. Historically monster-free. Use to eat pizza and reset. Do not live there or the tape stalls.
Deep vents after a key unlock. Good if you already finished the layer. Bad if you are hiding from a hatch she can still hear you drop through.
Management lockers. Tight, plenty of them, high traffic. A because they work, not S because two players in one box is a meme death.
B tier
Single bathroom stall without the connector. Works until she walks the row. Fine for a freeze prompt, not for a 30-second camp.
Corners with real geometry (support columns, store counters taller than you). Check first-person: if you can see her hair, she can see you.
Flashlight-off alcoves. Only if you already froze and she is leaving. Not a plan A.
C tier
Planters, benches, short shelves. She is tall. You are a child character. C on empty Normal, F on Hard.
Crouch in the open. Crouch is a move state, not a spot. Listed here because people treat it like one.
Half-entered lockers. Your hitbox is still in the aisle. C until you learn to commit, then it becomes F when she is close.
F tier
The camped cafeteria corridor. Not a hide. A donation.
The parking lot in Act 2. You cannot go there.
Inside Mother’s current path because a YouTube comment said “just stand still.” Stillness works during the prompt, not as a lifestyle in her loop.
Hard Mode
S stays S. B stalls become C because she turns faster. Shared lockers become F. Practice S-tier on Normal, then read Mode Difficile.
Drill
In Act 1, walk BCPenney, food court, and management and point at every locker. In Act 2, hide in one S-tier spot per wing before you loot. The quest order tool tells you which wing you should even be in.
Mother’s behavior, not just cover, is on Mother. Items that support a hide (pizza so you do not fidget) are on the item tier list.
Server noise versus cover quality
A locker is S-tier until six teammates sprint past it and dump the whole patrol on your door. Sound pulls her to your “perfect” hide. Small parties make every rank on this page truer. On a 40-player server, even S-tier lockers become B because the aisle is a concert. If you cannot control the server, control your own sprint and flashlight. Cover cannot save a loud stack.
Practice the bathroom connector on Normal until you can do it without a map overlay, flashlight off, and without peeking the stall gap. That one S-tier path is worth more than ten C-tier planters. Then open the Ordre des quêtes so you are hiding in the wing the HUD actually wants. If you still die after that, the problem is sprint or flashlight, not a missing S-tier bush. Re-read Comment survivre before you demote lockers in your head.
