Mall Game’s cast is a holiday family plus the mall staff who survive the blackout. You do not unlock them in a menu. You visit them in order or the HUD will not move. This hub splits the hunter from the helpers. Deep dives: Mother, PNJs, and Abzeichen.
You
You play a kid on a restock trip, 17 December 2009 in the tape text. Act 1 is boredom and an arcade obby. Act 2 is errands for adults who cannot (or will not) walk the floor. That tone is the point. If the fetch quests feel wrong, they are supposed to -?the story is about trusting adults in a mall that stopped being safe.
Mother
Your driver. Fraudisha’s friend. Then the thing in the dark. She is the only real threat on Tape 1. Mechanics, grab rules, and why Hard Mode feels personal are on Mother. Do not look for a second monster type in Tape 1; fuel your paranoia on her footsteps alone.

Why this is not a “best starter” list
There is no starter pick. You cannot main Gavin. Ranking NPCs as DPS would be fanfiction. If you want ranks, use item tiers and Endroits pour se cacher. If you want to not die to the one character who can kill you, read Comment survivre.
Revamp faces
The 2026 rebuild credited new faces and a new thumbnail artist. Models look sharper; names above still match HUD and dialogue. If an NPC is missing in alpha, it is a spawn bug -?rejoin before you assume the quest deleted them. Mises à jour tracks those swings.
Co-op: other players (the Roblox humans) are extra bodies, not extra story. Keep the party small. A 50-player server is a noise machine for Mother’s ears.
How to use this hub mid-run
If someone asks “who is Gavin” in voice, send this hub. If someone asks “what does he want,” send the Ordre des quêtes. If someone asks “why is she so fast,” send Mode Difficile. Mixing those three questions into one Discord essay is how new players bounce.
The family in the car (thumbnail art, Act 1 ride) is flavor for the holiday frame. Siblings are not Tape 1 quest givers. Do not search the blackout for them. The tape wants you running errands for the saferoom adults, then leaving through the elevator with whoever is still standing. That is the whole roster that matters until Lotus names someone new on Mises à jour.
