What the 2026 rebuild changed - and what Tape 1 still expects you to do.
The Revamp Explained
The Roblox title now reads [Refonte] mall game. The studio copy is loud: improved gameplay, redesigned environments, new soundtrack, new features, more detail, still alpha, everything subject to change. A second line teases The Lotus Awaits. The official trailer is embedded below. This page is the practical delta for people who learned the game on 2025 YouTube. Quest spine remains the Solution. The studio group has also said Version 2 is on the way - that is a future line, not a reason to skip Tape 1.
Why they rebuilt
v1.14 asked players to finish Tape 1 for legacy rewards before the rebuild. That is the polite way to say the mall was getting demolished. If you already cleared Tape 1 in 2025, you were in the audience for those cosmetics. If you did not, play the revamp as the current game - do not sit on a closed deadline.
Credits shifted too: programmers ybgdavy, VividCrowns, YPCOcean; builder FrigidSummers; new modeler and faces listed on the live page. The mall should look and sound like a different product even when Gavin still wants a hot dog.
Gameplay you will feel
- Lighting and audio. Flashlight discipline from Comment jouer matters more because the dark is actually dark and footsteps read better (when they are not the old “inaccurate footsteps” complaint).
- Layouts. Wings keep their names - BCPenney, BloxStop, food court - but paths and locker pixels moved. Demote a hide if it fails twice; see hiding-spot tiers.
- Lobby economy text. Invite a friend for a free revive. Roblox Plus +10% bonus rewards. Older 25% Premium / group-ticket lines may be gone. Trust the live description.
- Codes. 40K likes teaser is still on the page after public like counts crossed 40,000. No confirmed new string. Old visit codes are disputed. Centre Codes.
- Legacy rewards. v1.14 promised extras for classic clears. Some players got nothing. Legacy rewards.
- Lotus. Event / teaser, not a Tape 2 walkthrough we can honestly write yet. When it is a real mechanic, it gets a guide. We will not invent one.
What did not change
You still play a kid. Mother still hunts in Act 2. Filip still starts the blackout. Gavin still wants a glizzy. David still wants an arm. The rooftop elevator is still the ending. Mother and PNJs remain the cast. Hard Mode still exists as a faster, extra-objective toggle.
How to use old videos
The walkthrough embed on this wiki is a full original-layout clear. Watch it for quest order, not for “stand on this exact tile.” If a 2025 comment says the glizzy is only on the stand, check the reception table too. If a vent is one-way in your build, believe the hatch, not the vod.
Alpha survival kit
Rejoin when Claim Codes is missing, when an NPC clipped under the floor, or when fuel counts go negative. Trailer comments still ask for checkpoints (especially the Gavin section). They are not a documented Tape 1 feature. Play as if a grab without a ticket costs a chunk of Act 2. Do not immediately inject a noclip from the scripts hub - the snap-back anti-cheat still exists and the account risk is worse than a 30-second rejoin.

What to tell a friend who last played in 2025
Same Tape 1 story spine. Darker mall. Different soundtrack. New thumbnail art. Alpha bugs. Invite for revives. Try codes again. Do not trust their locker. Do not trust their glizzy stand as the only spawn. Hard Mode still exists. Lotus is not homework. Send them Premiers pas and this page, not a 90-minute vod with outdated tiles.
If they insist the group ticket still drops, let them join the studio group anyway - shouts and status are worth it even if the ticket line moved. Then start Tape 1 on Normal so the new audio does not stack with Hard speed on the same night.
